The team of Tyler Ostrovsky and Phil McPherson, both from Simi Valley,
posted a two-round best ball score of 133 to win the championship flight of
the Simi Valley City 4Ball Championship. In this competition, held
Saturday, May 30 at Simi Hills Golf Course and on Sunday, May 31 on the
Sky course at Lost Canyons, players completed each hole and the better of
the two scores became the team score for the hole. The Ostrovsky
/McPherson team had a best ball score of 4 under par 67 at Simi Hills and
6 under par 66 at Lost Canyons. Second place in the gross flight was
posted by the team of Timothy Flanagan of Simi Valley and Brent Van
Loggerenberg of Sun Valley with a two-round total of 137. The score of
140 was good for third place and was posted by the team of Anton
Kawalsky (Los Angeles) and Kris Galashan (Los Angeles). Fourth place
went to Robert Franklin and Brad Mols, both of Simi Valley, with a two-day
score of 143.
In the net flight, Darryl Gordon of Saugus and Gonzo Paigen of Santa
Clarita posted net 58 and net 65 for a two day total of 123, good for first
place. Second place honors went to Ted Raychek of Simi Valley and Jerry
Melnyk of West Hills with a score of 129, and third place was posted by
Eran Gonsor of Calabasas and Kirk Davis of Simi Valley with a two-day net
score of 131.
In this year’s couples’/ladies’ flight, Ko Igarashi (Culver City) and Leewen
Chen (Los Angeles) took top honors with a two-day net score of 125.
Second place, with a score of 132, went to Fred Simon of Fullerton and
Leslie Lentz of Chatsworth. Third place honors went to Carlos Hernandez
of Winnetka and Germaine Warner of Pasadena, with a net score of 135.
